Contrary to the name, I don’t believe true pain relief comes in the form of a drug. Your body is designed to tell you when something isn’t right. Don’t ignore it! Listen to yourself and don’t dial down the volume with a quick fix of pain killers. Before I completed my massage certification in 2014, I spent decades battling a series of chronic issues. Medical doctors couldn’t help me outside of prescriptions, which shook my faith in conventional medicine. This hurled me into my own research and eventually into the practice of physical therapy.

Therapy isn’t only for injuries. We use our bodies every day and we do serious damage to them at work, at home and at play without even knowing it. Nothing in life works that hard without needing a tuneup or regular maintenance. So why shouldn’t you? Message therapy relieves stress, reduces anxiety, lowers blood pressure and facilitates recovery from muscular injury and soreness.

Much of my experience was gained at high end spas. The fancy spa experience is pure luxury but in my own private practice I prefer to cut the fluff and get straight to the important part; your care plan and education toward long term health goals. It’s good that we are living past 90 years old these days. But wouldn’t it be great if you were still able to maintain your range of motion and abilities at that age? You can but the work and care starts now - the sooner the better.

Be honest. If you’ve been ignoring what your body is telling you, then prioritize yourself and treat yo’self to your first appointment. Once you get a dose of relief… you’ll be back for more!
